Ocean Isle Beach July 4th - July 11th

This year we took a week-long beach trip with my parents to Ocean Isle. We really had a good time and weren't ready to come home. Vacations just go by too fast. Cameron and Chloe really enjoyed the beach this year. It wasn't until the last full day we were there that they actually got in the water. They were so cute! They would run and sit down in the water and let the waves crash over them. They were getting pretty brave.

The place we stayed was pretty nice. It was a newer townhouse located right when you come over to bridge to Ocean Isle. It had a boat dock to the canal out back. Even though we were on a busy street and right in the middle of everything, the girls still slept great! We could walk to the new playground they had near-by and over course, the Ocean Ilse Creamery...yum!!

Tweetsie!!!

For our anniversary this year, Chris surprised us, took the day off and we took the kids up to Tweetsie Railroad. It was great!!!! A little pricey at $30 per adult, but well worth it!!! Really the entire park is geared towards young kids. I think there were only a couple of rides they could not get on. We were there all day and they had a ball! We didn't leave until they closed that evening at 6.

The last time I was there I think I was 5. I really don't have much memory except for the cowboys and indians on the train. And now there we were, Chris and I with our little girls sharing the same experience with them. They absolutely LOVED the train!!! There was the full-out skit with the deputies and sheriff and townspeople before the train pulled off, then they loaded the train with us to go the "Western Union" the first stop, and then "Fort Boone", the second stop to fight the indians. They actually act out a different scenerio each time you ride. We rode twice.

Besides the train, there are cars for the kids to drive, boats, planes, carosel, ferris wheel, tilt-a-whirl (don't recommend doing right after lunch), chair-lift, feeding deer and goats, etc.... Of course while we were there we had to get a funnel cake and ice cream for the girls, and buy them Tweetsie t-shirts!!! Oh, and we went on a Monday, not crowded at all, felt safe, kids ran around, we were very relaxed with them all day long.

Overall, it was just a great way to spend our 7th anniversary!!! And, on the way home we stopped by and got take-out from Carrabbas, our favorite restaurant & the place we always go for our anniversary. This time we just added a kids meal. Oh, it was a great way to top off a great day!!!

I highly recommend Tweetsie!!!!

Here are some pictures and a short video of us on the train for the second time. Notice the kids (Chris too) are so tired and tired of me filming them. But I just had to capture the moment, the western music they played on the train and the girls waving was just so cool.

Summer Playdate 1: Our House

Today was the first of several playdates with cousins Hayden and Hunter. This time it was at our house. I didn't pay attention to the weather very well. It was cooler and wet so the new slip n' slide didn't make it out of the box. It finally cleared up enough to go out for a walk and swing. The swing was a little wet, notice the towel.

Cameron's Spring Program (May 21, 2009)

Cameron had her Spring Program at school last Thursday night. This is where all the classes 2K to 4K show the parents all they have learned during the year, and sing songs they have learned as well. They all had to wear solid colored shirts and jean shorts. If it wasn't for that, I would have dressed her up a bit. As you can tell, Cameron is the biggest one in the group, she is also the oldest and the loudest when it comes to singing. She is actually still with the 2yr old group (now at 3 1/2) since her birthday is so late. She will move up to the older class when she returns in Aug.

This is a short clip of the only video I got of Cameron. As you will notice, the camera is shaky due to Miss Chloe not wanting to sit still. If you listen close, you can hear Chloe singing in the background. I was trying my hardest to get her to sit and sing along with me and watch Cameron. However, as soon as the song ended that girl broke free from me and ran up on stage with Cameron's class, and pitched a fit when I ran up there and caught her. I was so embarrassed!!!! I cannot reason with that child for nothing. Chloe and Cameron are so different!! They both have their own personalities.

Luckily, next year we shouldn't have a child in the audience with us since Chloe will be in Ms Mary's 2K next year. Chloe will be up there singing too!! So, hopefully we can get a grip on her listening and following directions skills soon.

Chloe's 2nd Birthday!! (April 19, 2009)

Well I finally made some time to post some pictures of Chloe's 2nd birthday party. It was a beautiful day; and we were able to cook out and have everything outside!! So fun!! The kids chased each other in the yard and visited the cows. Can't believe my youngest is 2!! Where did my little baby go?? Time goes by way too fast.

Cameron with Children's Church

Cameron sang with the children's church in front of the congregation about 2 Sunday's ago. Sorry the video is a little fuzzy. We had actually left our camera at home and were borrowing a friends at church, so I wasn't too familiar with the camera. I honestly thought they were just singing a couple of songs, but there was actually a video with different motions that go with the songs.

Cameron is the one on the far right. She is really concentrating on the TV screen so she can get all the hand motions right. She is the youngest one in children's church, but did the best job of all!! She was so cute. Oh and sorry for the movement of the camera. I found myself dancing along to the music in the balcony.
